Training Programmes
TNTN provides a comprehensive range of training across all industry sectors, and much of the provision is eligible for government funding.
It can match the training requirements of an employee to both the types of training options and suppliers available, and then recommend a cost-effective package for the employer.
National vocational qualifications (NVQs)
Employees can study a range of NVQs in the workplace across a wide range of industries, from care and construction to engineering and retail, hospitality and catering to the voluntary sector.
Apprenticeships
Targeted at younger employees aged 16 to 25, apprenticeships include study towards an NVQ but also prepare employees for additional technical certificates they require for a particular sector, whether an accountant or an electrician, and help improve levels of literacy and numeracy where required.
Distance Learning Courses
Employees study through high-quality training workbooks and have access to tutor help through a college or training centre. There is a large choice available from general courses, such as business improvement techniques, to courses relevant to a specific sector, such as dementia awareness in the care sector.
Short Courses
Meeting the needs of an employer, either relevant to their operations/sector or to meet legislative requirements in areas such as health and safety, first aid, and food hygiene.
Literacy & Numeracy
The UK has relatively low levels of literacy and numeracy among its adult working population. A large number of suppliers can help employees improve their literacy and/or numeracy skills. Some suppliers are working hard to develop training materials in subjects that are relevant to business and incorporate literacy and numeracy skills such as health and safety.
Bespoke
Bespoke training will be developed to meet the needs of employer and employees and take into account the operations of a business, working hours, what employees do and where employees are based, as well as the subject material and level of training required. Some other forms of training referred to above can include elements of bespoke training.

For today's six million British adults without basic skills there are now jobs for only 3 million of them – and by 2020 there will probably be jobs for only half a million.
So, either we will have to bear the social security costs, or they will have to gain new skills.
